We have a wonderful community for all ages– one that offers a multitude of amenities and endless activities that build connection and fosters interaction across generations. Over the past years, we have welcomed a new generation of young parents, who gave up the urban life, to strike a balance for a quality of life. They value being close to family and friends, and were drawn to the area for it’s beauty, vibrancy and the safe environment it provides. I recently chatted with friends who made the decision (B.C.-before children) to raise their families in the area, and are making a difference by getting involved and giving back to the community.

What they do for a living
Shelly is a dentist with Lake Oconee Dentistry and has been with the practice for 5 years
Jep has been a Senior Project Manager with Brasfield and Gorrie, one of the nation’s largest construction firms for 12 Years
How long have they lived in Reynolds
How they found Reynolds
Jep is with Brasfield and Gorrie and was in charge of building St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital. They fell in love with the lake area and did not want to stay in Atlanta and wanted a slower pace. Shelly found a good match with Drs. Bradley to practice dentistry. As a family, they enjoy all the amenities from the different pools, walking trails, restaurants and the many social events. “We’ve met some really wonderful friends and other families,” said Shelly. “ We love meeting people who moved to the community from all over the country (and the world).”
The Pounds have two kids, Eva Barbara (3) and newborn Bo Golden (5 weeks). Eva attends First United Methodist Preschool. They enjoy late afternoon lake cruises, and love to find a good cove for Eva and friends to jump off the back of the boat. “It never gets old,” said Jep.” We also enjoying stopping at Lake Club or Great Waters for lunch, the pool and water slide.”
Both Jep and Shelly are involved with St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital. Shelly has been involved in the Heart and Soul Gala/Fashion Show committee for three years.
Jep serves as the Chair of the Young Professionals Advisory Board of the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation.
